About Me... First, I have to mention that I can
be difficult to please, therefore, I am very picky about the quality of my work. God and my mother love me -- always.
If I do what it takes to make them happy with me, I'll never go wrong. And that is the basis of My Philosophy. They
would also agree that even though am an 'easy-going' person, I do set high standards for myself. (Everyone has
to have a certain level of standards that they feel comfortable with). Sometimes their standards may ebb and flow,
and depending on how their day is going, they can accept some things better on some days than they do on
other days. Well, I do expect a lot of myself. But, not everything is in my hands.
I love working with my hands. And sitting by myself...off in my own world...designing
even while I'm doing the dishes. I enjoy Ribbonwork immensely. The flowers are gorgeous, the techniques can be
difficult to learn but they do lend themselves, with so much versatility, to anyone who has the patience to master it.
Sharing this beauty with others is really the only thing left to do with this love of mine.
What my talents can offer you.....
I
enjoy creating bridal headpieces for period weddings as well as any style for todays weddings. Ribbonwork lends itself beautifully to any time period. The types of flowers or
leaves that I can create are almost limitless. Colors and sizes, styles and adding other embellishments, such as Swarovski
crystals, seed beads, peps, stamens, feathers are all easy options to change or add to your creation. This is my passion. My customers are thrilled
with my attention to detail and the expertise of my work. I must say, too, that my prices are WELL below practically
anything I've seen out there and believe me, I've looked into this. There is absolutely no compromise on quality, beauty,
timeliness or professionalism.
No job is too big or too small. I
particularly enjoy creating accessories for the Victorian/Edwardian themed wedding. There are so many variations and
possibilities with those eras but to be sure I am also very open and versed in the styles followed by other generations of
glamorous brides. Holding to any theme of your wedding or occasion, my flowers are custom-created
and perfect for:
** save the date cards,
wedding invitations,
bouquet,
headpiece,
boutonnieres,
pew bows,
thankyou cards and much, much more...
anniversaries, keepsakes....
Carrying
the theme of the flowers and the colors of the wedding from the start and throughout your special day will be very easy if
you are able to deal with as few vendors as possible. There are so many little nuances
that can make or break the perfect day and one of these is simply: color. Colors are particularly subjective to the
eye of each beholder. Using a focused professional is a must to prevent the unneeded anxiety and confusion usually associated
with planning a wedding. With Floral Compliments there is
no high pressure sales and lack of concern for YOUR desires or disconnection of ideas that would interrupt the natural flow
of your wedding theme. Every aspect of your day can be touched and colored with these everlasting flowers. These flowers
are made of ribbon and with the utmost in care and skill. With the combination of my years
of research, over 30 years of needlework experience and my passion to create these flowers, I can satisfy any brides
floral requests. I look forward to hearing from you.
Please feel free to contact me for questions or comments. My contact information is on every page. Thanks and
God Bless!!
As you may have read by now in my site or you have worked with me before,
then you know how versatile I can be. There are very few limitations that would come into play in designing practically
anything you might want. I have quite a few tricks up my sleeve and I'm not happy until you're happy. Ribbonwork
is not an easy thing to do by any means. I am a very pick person. I am self-taught. Ribbonwork hasn't
been around for quite a long time; although it was widely used among the upper class since the 1500's (on and off depending
upon the particular regions economy) but since women have stopped making so many of their own clothes and accessories, it's
become, sadly, a lost art. I feel very proud to say, "I made this." Although, these are, I'm sure, like
nothing you've seen before, I know you would be very proud to own one of these works of art to call your own. (Especially,
if you have helped design it, then you, too, get bragging rights). I
put a little bit of the history of ribbonwork on my vintage chokers page and on my vintage bridal page.
The lack of practical and feminine accessories
has exasperated me, too. But "Necessity is the Mother of Invention." I thank the Holy Spirit everyday
for giving me the courage and knowledge to create and for the total enjoyment I get out of creating all of these new ideas.
